Alderman Camacho’s Reckless Actions and Halvensleben’s Silence Show Failed Leadership

The Republican Party of Waukesha County is deeply troubled by the recent conduct of District 15 Alderman Enrique (Rico) Camacho, a liberal Democrat. His actions in spreading false and inflammatory information about alleged ICE activity in downtown Waukesha are reckless, irresponsible, and unbecoming of an elected official.

Mr. Camacho’s post was more than just a simple mistake. His reckless actions spread fear, stirred tensions, and fostered distrust of law enforcement. Even more concerning, it nearly promoted obstructing legitimate law enforcement efforts, which is entirely unacceptable. Our community needs leaders who confirm facts before spreading rumors, especially on issues involving law enforcement, public safety and immigration.

Equally troubling is the silence from Council President and mayoral candidate Alicia Halvensleben, who has yet to condemn Alderman Camacho’s actions. Leadership demands courage to stand up for what’s right, even when it’s politically difficult. Her reluctance to speak out against behavior that compromises public trust suggests she shouldn’t be near the mayor’s office.

This incident highlights serious character flaws and poor judgment by Democrat Rico Camacho, who is entrusted with public office. Waukesha residents should expect honesty, accountability, and restraint from their elected officials, not panic, misinformation and political posturing.

We commend Secure Resources Unlimited and its leadership for their professionalism and the Waukesha Police Department for swiftly correcting the record and reinforcing the importance of truth and public trust.

Local government decisions and behavior affect our daily lives more than almost anything else. That’s why citizens must get involved, step forward, and support conservative leaders who act with character and integrity. Waukesha deserves better! It’s time to elect responsible, grounded individuals who will restore trust and good governance to our city, giving us hope for a better future.
