Local Candidates
There are important residency requirements for local candidates. Please review the Wisconsin Candidate Eligibility rules.
Some local offices are considered partisan which means that the candidate runs as a representative of a political party. Other offices are non-partisan which means the candidate does not run as a member of an political party because the expectation is that the office and officeholder are objective.
