The Recount Is Over
This past weekend, the recount in Waukesha County officially came to an end with Donald Trump and Mike Pence gaining victory over the progressive left’s attempt to overturn the voice of the people!
Upon completion of the recount, the paper work was sent to the Wisconsin Election Commission for certification. The recount process for the Waukesha County Republican Party was overseen Mary Ann Hanson, Chief Canvasser. This concluded 11 long and grueling days of stressful work; but, thanks to Mary Ann and her assistants Meg Wartman, Jack Melvin, and Robin Moore, the process was accomplished fairly and accurately. For this group of canvassers, many days started at 8:00 a.m. and continued till midnight. We thank each of them for their work in monitoring and auditing each vote.
We also must recognize the Lead Observers for the Republican Party of Waukesha County who represented the Trump campaign in addressing the issues that came before the Board of Canvassers. Our team was led by Attorneys Lana Lee McLario Helm, Randy Melchert, Brandon G. O’Bryon and election expert Ken Dragotta. This team stood its ground against the Lead Observers from the many other candidate groups – including the Green Party, Democratic Party, and Workers (Communist) Party – to ensure the recount was carried out fairly.
The RPWC would also like to thank the numerous Team Captains who trained and assisted our county party observers, plus the dozens of observers themselves, who served as our eyes and ears in the tabulating room every day.
In the end, Clinton gained 24 votes and Trump added 22, for only a two vote swing in our County.
While the recount, initiated by the progressive left, was clearly a colossal waste of time, we are extremely grateful for everyone who donated hundreds of hours during the Christmas season, including the Municipal Clerks throughout Waukesha County. Our special thanks to all who worked so tirelessly to ensure that the election was not stolen from us and that the voice of the people was upheld!
